About me

Sabine Girke, born 08.10.1981.

I have my roots in Bavaria, Germany. I was born and raised in Weiden, which is a town about 200 km north of Munich. I started riding horses when I was 8 years old. I completed all licenses up to Trainer B (2009).

Next to training horses and teaching at several horse farms and self-employed I went from 2004 until 2009 to the University of Weihenstephan. In 2009 I finished my degree Diplom Agrar Ingenieur which is comparable with the degree Master of Agriculture.

In September 2010 I moved to Iceland and was training competition and breeding horses with the best riders In Iceland like for example Þórður Þorgeirsson. In the beginning of 2011 I and my husband Daníel Ben Þorgeirsson bought the horse farm Akurgerdi near Selfoss.

Since we opened up Salehorses.is in 2010 very many happy customers and friends have found their horses through our page.
